Itinerary

Day 1
Cusco – Km104 – Aguas Calientes

After breakfast at your hotel, we will pick you up, transferred in our private transport to the train station, and board the train, we take the train to km 104, the starting point of the Short Inca Trail, our Andean View Travel guide will give you informs about the function of the archaeological group of Chachabamba.
As we make our way to Machu Picchu we will pass through the lush and verdant cloud forest that covers the mountain and get to see a variety of plants, flowers, and birds along the way. We may also see some larger mammals such as Viscachas (rabbit-like Chinchillas) and Spectacled Bears (if we are very lucky).
Our trek today takes us along the most impressive stretch of the Inca Trail. We’ll visit beautiful Inca sites , see a variety of flora and fauna and get to take in the fantastic panoramas of the Andes mountains. Covering 10km of the trail our journey begins in the Sacred Valley and works it’s way up along an original Inca Trail to the Inca site of Winay Wayna where we will have a guided tour of the site and stop for lunch, before continuing on to Machu Picchu via the Sun Gate (Inti Punku).
After a full days trekking we will arrive to the Sun Gate (Inti Punku) in the late afternoon and get our first views of Machu Picchu spread out on the mountain below. The light at this time of day is great to observe the sunset of Machu Picchu, with fewer tourists in the site it is a perfect time to take some pictures. We descend through the ruins of Machu Picchu to then catch the bus to Aguas Calientes town where you will have a delicious dinner and spend the night in a hotel.

Day 2
Aguas Calientes Town - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Today we have more time to enjoy the Machu Picchu sanctuary, waking up early, the Andean View Travel guide an you will take the bus back up to Machu Picchu to enter the Inca site. You will exploring one of the New Seven Wonders of the World accompanied with our professional Andean View Travel tour guide, we will have a 2 hour guided tour of the Santuary during which you will learn about the Incas and visit the most important areas of the citadel. After your tour, you will have free time to explore the site by yourself and if you have permits to climb either Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain.
After you end up your visit, board the bus down to Aguas Calientes, where we have time lunch (not Included), and enjoy some extra time at the town to get some local souvenirs and then board the train back to Ollantaytambo train station where our staff will be waiting for you and transferred in our private transport back to your Cusco hotel.

INCA TRAIL AVAILABILITY

We offer daily departures on the Inca Trail (excluding February when the trail is closed)
It is strongly recommended to book your Inca Trail at least 3 months in advance as permits can quickly sell out.

RECOMMEND

● Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 3 days of travel. In this case confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability
● Passport name, number, DOB and country is required at time of booking for all participants.
● A current valid passport is required on the day of travel.
● Vegetarian option is available, please advise at time of booking if required.
● A small amount of walking is involved.
● For the overnight in Aguas Calientes (Machupicchu town), please take a small backpack or carry-on with some clothing enough for the overnight. The rest of the items you can keeped at your Cusco hotel or in our office. In order to avoid carrying unnecesary stuff that you won´t wear in Machupicchu.
