Enjoy a breathtaking train ride to Machu Picchu. Taking the train to Machu Picchu will also provide the opportunity to take in the spectacular scenery in route to the high Andean Village of Sacred Valley and admire its imposing the Inca farming terraces along the way. Once upon arrival to Machu Picchu you will have time to explore the ruins at Machu Picchu, the lost City of the Incas’. These breathtaking pre Columbian ruins are nestled high in the Andes between two peaks. The ruins were rediscovered in 1911 by archaeologist Hiram Bingham and are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world.

Itinerary

Day 1
Machu Picchu Full Day View

Early in the morning, we will pick up in our private transport from your hotel to Ollantaytambo train station, the trip will last approximately 2 hours during the trip we will pass through wonderful high Andean landscapes until we reach the Sacred Valley, where we board the train to Machu Picchu (Aguas Calientes Town)., after about 3 hours from majestic views reached the village of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo). The trip will be along the banks of the Urubamba River for approximately 1.45 hours. During the trip, we will be able to observe the stunning scenery of Sacred Valley will be on the road.
Once you arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes train station, you will be welcomed by our staff who will assist you to board the bus and take a short ride up to the main entrance gate of Machupicchu Citadel to begin an unforgettable experience of this mysterious and charming place accompanied with a professional tour guide who will share with you all his knowledge about the history, traditions and more. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the site on your own, relax, or walk around the citadel.
At the appointed time, board the bus down and descend to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and enjoy some extra time at the town to get some local souvenirs and board the trains back to the Ollantaytambo train station where our staff will be waiting for you and transferred in our private transport back to your Cusco hotel.
